Savior

Standing side by side,
we survey the challenges
I will have on earth.
"Insurmountable!" I gasp.
"Conquerable." you smile.
Holding your hands out to me,
you gently whisper,
"You see
I will suffer first
that I may know
precisely how to see
you through. You'll never
be alone in these."
The trials did come, some
brutally back-to-back. Gasping
in agony, I remember you
and reach out my hand for
your saving grasp, leading
me towards hope,
carrying me to healing
through your love.
